This photograph was taken moments before a "Zeke 52" kamikaze aircraft made its suicide run on the escort carrier USS KALININ BAY (CVE 68).  This photograph was taken from USS WHITE PLAINS (CVE 66).  Flak is being put up by the ship in an attempt to down the aircraft.
