NOSHIRO survived the Battle Off Samar, only to be sunk the next day, 26 October 1944, by aircraft of TG 38.1, HORNET and WASP.

YAHAGI survived the Battle Off Samar. She was sunk on 7 April 1945 while escorting YAMATO to Okinawa by aircraft of TF 58.
